Harbhajan Singh Tweets To Slam Selectors For Ignoring Two Batters Jackson, Mandeep Singh For India Or India A Squads

New Delhi: India’s legendary off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at the Indian selection committee for ignoring batters Sheldon Jackson and Mandeep Singh despite their brilliant performances in domestic circuit.

The Indian selectors on Tuesday had announced India’s T20 squad for the home series against New Zealand and India ‘A’ squad for the tour of South Africa, but the names of in-form talented batters Sheldon and Mandeep were missing from teams announced for India and India ‘A’.

Harbhajan in his tweet mentioned how many runs Sheldon had scored in the Ranji Trophy and said that he does not understand what the batsman should do next to get selected in the Indian team.

“Ranji season 2018/19 scored 854 and 2019/2020 scored 809 and also Ranji champion that year plus this year current form yet not getting picked even for India A team. can selector tell him what else he need to do to ply for India apart from scoring runs #shame @ShelJackson27,” Harbhajan wrote in a tweet.

Harbhajan, in what looked like a taunt, suggested the selectors to start watching more domestic matches as Punjab skipper Mandeep Singh name was too missing from the India A squad announced for tour of South Africa.

“Another top player not getting his dues @mandeeps12 forget team India not even in India A. Selectors need to see some domestic matches records or else what’s the point having Ranji seasons. Check his stats last domestic season played. Due to corona no cricket in 20/21 #shocking,” he wrote in another tweet.

BCCI on Tuesday named Rohit Sharma as new captain of the Indian cricket team for the shortest format after Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s T20I captain. KL Rahul was named as vice-captain.
