The High Court and the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 4th January 2018. As per this amendment the salary is expected to rise significantly. For example presently the monthly salary of Chief Justice of India is Rupees 1 lakh only. This will increase to rupees 280000 per month The monthly allowance will also increase from Rs 20000 to Rs 45000. The salary of other judges of Supreme Court is presently 90000 per month. This will increase to rupees 250000 per month. The Chief Justice of High Courts currently draws a salary of 90000 per month. This also will increase to Rs 250000 per month. Other judges of High Court are presently drawing rupees 80000 per month. This will increase to rupees 225000 per month. The pension of judges is also likely to increase significantly. The Chief Justice of India presently gets a pension of 6 Lakhs per annum. This will increase to rupees 16, 80,000 per annum. Other judges of Supreme Court are presently drawing a pension of rupees 5,40,000 per annum. This will increase to rupees 15,00,000 per annum. Chief Justice of High Court today draws pension of rupees 540000 per annum. This will increase to rupees 13,50,000 per annum.
