Indian Eves Aiming For Silver Against Argentina

Tokyo: The Indian eves defeated the mighty Australians in the quarter-final and are now set to face Argentina Wednesday at 3:30 pm IST. India’s women have broken stereotypes and are winning medals for India. All three medals for India have come from female athletes in Tokyo 2020 so far.

If India’s women’s hockey team manages to win Wednesday’s match against Argentina, then they will secure India’s fourth medal from the women of India. The previous match was a confidence-booster for India as they defeated the mighty Australian side. India now faces Argentina, which is an equally strong team.

India’s goal-keeper, Savita Punia saved seven shots at India’s goal against Australia. Punia’s ability at the goal post has given a cushion for the Indian team’s defence. Players like Vandana Katariya are in top form and the other women in the team will also be itching to improve their performance.
