Virat Kohli bids adieu to the outgoing coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri, and his coaching team of Bharat Arun and R Sridhar. Under Shastri, India’s Test team improved significantly from where it was before him. Although he was not able to win a single ICC Trophy, he left a mark on the team and rejuvenated a “fearless” attitude in the team.
Kohli posted an emotional message on Twitter and thanked the coaches for their support. He wrote, “Thank you for all the memories and the amazing journey we’ve had as a team with you all. Your contribution has been immense and will always be remembered in Indian cricket history. Wish you the best in moving forward in life. Until next time.”

It was already announced that the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup would be Ravi Shastri’s last as a coach. Rahul Dravid will take over the reins from 17 November.
“In the last 24 months, they’ve been home for 25 days. I don’t care who you are, if your name is Bradman, if you’re in a bubble as well, your average will come down because you’re human,” Shastri said during a press interaction on Tuesday.
He also spoke about the constant cricket and the small gap between IPL and the World Cup.
“This is not something where you just put petrol on the backside and expect the guy to move in overdrive. It doesn’t happen that way. So I think it’s tough times,” he added.
“That’s why I say in life it’s not what you accomplish, it’s what you overcome. That’s what this team has done. They’ve shown the drive to hang in there, no complaints. But sooner or later, the bubble will burst. So you’ve got to be careful,” said Shastri.
