Mohammed Rizwan Becomes 1st Batsman To Score 2000 T20 Runs In One Calendar Year


Pakistan’s star opener Mohammad Rizwan created history in the third T20 against West Indies that was being played at the National Stadium in Karachi. Mohammad Rizwan, who played a match-winning innings of 87 runs in this match, became the first batsman in the world to score 2000 runs in a single calendar year in T20 cricket.

Rizwan achieved this feat in the third T20I against West Indies. When he was on 54 runs, he completed 2000 runs in T20 cricket this year. Earlier, Rizwan had also become the first batsman to complete 1000 runs in a calendar year in T20 Internationals.

Rizwan scored 1326 runs in 29 matches of T20Is in 2021 at an average of 73.66 and strike rate of 134.89. During this, he scored one century and 12 half-centuries. This year Rizwan hit 119 fours and 42 sixes.

Pakistan dominates West Indies, chases the target of 208 runs in the third T20I

Pakistan defeated West Indies in the third T20 played at the National Stadium in Karachi. By winning the third T20I by seven wickets, Pakistanwhite-washed the visiting team in the three-match T20 series.

In the third T20I, West Indies scored 207 runs for three wickets in 20 overs after playing the first. In reply, Pakistan chased down the target easily in 18.5 overs losing just three wickets. This is Pakistan’s biggest successful run chase in the history of T20 Internationals.

Mohammad Rizwan and captain Babar Azam were the heroes of Pakistan’s historic victory. Rizwan played a match-winning innings of 86 off 45 balls and captain Babar scored 79 runs in 53 balls. Asif Ali scored an unbeaten 21 runs in just seven balls to give victory to his team. Asif hit two fours and two sixes.
