Rahul Dravid Likely To Remain NCA Director, India Need To Find New Coach After T20 World Cup


After this year’s T20 World Cup, the head coach of Team India may change, as coach Ravi Shastri’s tenure is going to end after the T20 World Cup. There are some reports that Ravi Shastri will not apply for the post of coach again. But now, Rahul Dravid also seems to be out of the race for the post of Team India coach.

Rahul Dravid has applied again to remain the director of the National Cricket Academy. Rahul Dravid’s first term as NCA director is set to end soon. However, there is every possibility that Rahul Dravid may continue as director of the National Cricket Academy, as he is the only one to have applied for the post. 

“Yes, Rahul has reapplied for the post of Head of Cricket. You don’t need to be a genius to guess that he is going to continue after the tremendous work he has put in to change the face of NCA, which is now truly a centre of excellence,” a senior BCCI source told PTI

Ravi Shastri has indicated to the BCCI that he wants to step aside as team India coach after the T20 World Cup. It was believed that National Cricket Academy Chief Rahul Dravid would replace Ravi Shastri as head coach. At the same time, due to the new recruitment for the Chief of the National Cricket Academy. Dravid’s name as a coach has become the headlines. 

New coach to be appointed after T20 World Cup

Recently, Rahul Dravid played the role of team India’s head coach on the tour of Sri Lanka. Despite the absence of senior players, the Indian team, coached by Rahul Dravid, managed to clinch the ODI series on the tour of Sri Lanka. Even after this Sri Lanka tour, the news of Rahul Dravid becoming the head coach had intensified. But now all these reports seem to be coming to a halt.

However, Team India will be looking for a new coach after T20 World Cup. The BCCI will now have to look for a new face after Ravi Shastri expressed his desire not to continue as coach and Rahul Dravid also withdrew from the race.
