Who Will Wear Jersey No.10 At PSG? Netizes Debate Between Neymar & Messi


Argentina’s legend – Lionel Messi left his boyhood club, FC Barcelona last week. On Tuesday, multiple reports confirmed Leo Messi’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The contract is said to be for two years till 2024, with an option to extend. The salary is not confirmed but there are reports of salary being between €35m – €40m.

Football transfer market’s journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote, “Lionel Messi joins PSG… HERE WE GO! Total agreement completed on a two-years contract. Option to extend until June 2024. Salary around €35m net per season add ons included,” on Twitter.

Now that Messi’s move to Paris is confirmed, Netizens are debating about who would take the number.10 jersey at PSG? Currently, PSG star and Messi’s Barca friend Neymar Jr wears the no.10 jersey at PSG. Even Messi wore the no.10 jersey at Barcelona since 2008. 

Messi’s Jersey Number At PSG?

French journalist Julien Maynard reported that Messi has asked for no.19 jersey at PSG. It is learned that Neymar was willing to give up the number 10, but Messi asked for a no.19 jersey. 

Messi started his Barca career with no.30 jersey and then played with jersey no.19 for two years at Barcelona. 

During a press conference last week, Messi did not comment on a move to PSG. “That’s one possibility, but I have not confirmed anything with any club right now,” said Messi when a journalist asked about a possible move to Paris Saint-Germain. 

 Lionel Messi, while attending his last press conference at FC Barcelona among supporters and journalists was not able to control his tears. Messi began his FC Barcelona senior career in 2004, so from 2004-2021, Messi saw a lot of changes in the Catalan club and thus, it is only natural to feel emotional while ending such a long association with the club.
